Welcome

Welcome!

The last 3 months have been the most exciting in the European Prevention of Alzheimer's Dementia (EPAD) project so far. We have recruited our first research participants in the Edinburgh and Barcelona Trial Delivery Centers (TDCs) and will start recruitment in the Amsterdam, Geneva, Stockholm, and Toulouse TDCs by the end of the summer. We are now truly live and on track to build the first pan-European platform to test new interventions in the treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease. Furthermore, in June the IMI-2 “Amyloid Imaging to Prevent Alzheimer’s Disease” or AMYPAD project was announced, which offers EPAD the exciting opportunity to also add amyloid PET imaging to its research toolbox.

This electronic newsletter will be published quarterly and be accessible via the EPAD website (www.ep-ad.org) and inform the Alzheimer community on EPAD’s main achievements, upcoming events as well as allow you to meet the scientists who make it all happen.

In this issue, we present the highlights from our recent General Assembly meeting that was held in Barcelona from May 17-19. You can also find out more about 2 of the EPAD collaborators, Shobha Dhadda and Brian Tom

We hope you enjoy this issue of the EPAD newsletter! Happy Reading!
