25th Alzheimer Europe Conference – “Dementia: putting strategies and research into practice”
September 2, 2015 - September 4, 2015
We are delighted to invite you to the 25th Annual Conference of Alzheimer Europe which takes place in Ljubljana, Slovenia from 2-4 September 2015.
The theme for this year is “Dementia: putting strategies and research into practice”. We want to build on our experience of the previous years and identify how research results and research findings can be translated into concrete actions to improve the lives of people with dementia and their carers. The conference will also be an opportunity to celebrate Alzheimer Europe’s 25th anniversary and to look back on the many achievements of the organisation.
By putting the translation of research and strategies into practice at the heart of this year’s conference, we want to demonstrate the responsibility of national and international policymakers, local decision-makers, health and social care professionals and all of society in making change happen for people with dementia and their carers.
The annual Alzheimer Europe conference is, as ever, unique in bringing together a range of participants, including people with dementia and their carers, policy makers and civil servants, care and health professionals, academics and researchers, staff and volunteers of Alzheimer associations and representatives of the pharmaceutical industry. In this context, we would also like to thank the European Union for the generous support provided via the health programme for our 2015 Work Plan and Annual Conference.
We will launch our call for abstracts and expect submissions in four key fields: dementia-friendly society, dementia policies and strategies, innovative care and medical aspects. We hope that you will share your research, projects, initiatives and activities and that we will be able to build a truly inspirational programme on the basis of your submitted abstracts.
We look forward to welcoming you soon in Ljubljana
The conference is dedicated to the memory of dr. Aleš Kogoj, founder of Spominčica – Alzheimer Slovenija in 1997 and a pioneer in the field of dementia in Slovenia.
