{"id":1052,"date":"2017-02-20T15:40:31","date_gmt":"2017-02-20T13:40:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alzheimer.noemi.lu\/?p=1052"},"modified":"2017-02-20T15:40:31","modified_gmt":"2017-02-20T13:40:31","slug":"could-a-dementia-free-world-become-a-reality","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ep-ad.org\/index.php\/2017\/02\/20\/could-a-dementia-free-world-become-a-reality\/","title":{"rendered":"Could a dementia-free world become a reality?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span lang=\"EN-US\"><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">Professor Craig Ritchie, EPAD coordinator and Director of the University of Edinburgh\u2019s Centre for Dementia Prevention, gave his Inaugural Lecture on 20th February 2017, entitled &#8220;Could a dementia-free world become a reality?&#8221;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\"><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">The sold-out event was attended by academics, policy makers, research participants and school students, and provided a fascinating insight into the global landscape of dementia research\u00a0and prevention.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\"><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">There has been virtually no progress in developing new interventions to manage the symptoms of dementia over the last 20 years.
