{"id":2605,"date":"2018-10-23T10:34:27","date_gmt":"2018-10-23T08:34:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alzheimer.noemi.lu\/?p=2605"},"modified":"2018-10-23T10:34:27","modified_gmt":"2018-10-23T08:34:27","slug":"2605","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ep-ad.org\/index.php\/2018\/10\/23\/2605\/","title":{"rendered":"IMI celebrates 10th anniversary!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 22-23 October, the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) held a scientific symposium in Brussels (Belgium) to celebrate its 10th anniversary.\u00a0Young researchers from IMI projects were invited to\u00a0submit abstracts for IMI&#8217;s first scientific symposium to showcase the stellar science that IMI projects have been doing.<\/p>\n<p>The symposium featured 72 poster displays and 25 oral presentations that were\u00a0selected by a Programme Committee comprising top experts, and were clustered around four themes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>New targets, tools and pathways \uf0b7<\/li>\n<li>From concept to trial \uf0b7<\/li>\n<li>New clinical and regulatory paradigms \uf0b7<\/li>\n<li>Patient engagement along the value chain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are glad than three EPAD abstracts were accepted at this year\u2019s IMI Scientific Symposium in Brussels:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oral presentation: \u201cPredicting Cognitive Decline through Structural MRI biomarkers: Results from the EMIF-AD Biomarker Discovery Study\u201d \u2013 Ingala Silvia, VU Medical Center<\/li>\n<li>Poster: \u201cAltering disease course before symptom onset: the European Prevention of Alzheimer\u2019s Dementia (EPAD) project (WP4)\u201d \u2013 Gheorghe Delia, University of Oxford<\/li>\n<li>Poster: \u201cEuropean Prevention of Alzheimer\u2019s Dementia (EPAD) Registry for a longitudinal cohort and Alzheimer prevention trials\u201d \u2013 Vermunt Lisa, VU University Medical Center.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition,\u00a0Fiona Heeman (VU University Medical Center),\u00a0Isadora Lopes Alves (VU University Medical Center) and\u00a0Daniele Altomare (IRCCS &#8211; Fatebenefratell), three of our\u00a0EPAD Academy fellows, presented the <a href=\"https:\/\/amypad.eu\/\">AMYPAD <\/a>project.<\/p>\n<p>More information can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imi.europa.eu\/news-events\/events\/imi-10th-anniversary-scientific-symposium\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IMI website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 22-23 October, the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) held a scientific symposium in Brussels (Belgium) to celebrate its 10th anniversary.\u00a0Young researchers from IMI projects were invited to\u00a0submit abstracts for IMI&#8217;s first scientific symposium to showcase the stellar science that IMI projects have been doing.
